Deublin Company is the leading manufacturer of Rotating Unions - a mechanical device that allows transfer of pressurized fluid from a stationary source into rotating machinery for heating, cooling or transfer of fluid power.
Deublin's entree into the Rotating Union market was its unique design that incorporated balanced mechanical seals. The then innovative design was immediately accepted by the industry and this began the growth of the company.
Rotating Union applications include Air Clutches, Gear Boxes, Machine Tool Spindles, Textile Equipment, Rubber & Plastic Manufacturing Machinery, Steel Continuous Casting Machines and Paper Machine Calender stacks. In 1989 Deublin product line was expanded to include Steam Joints and Siphon Systems for Paper Machine Dryer Cans.
With its world headquarters in Waukegan - a suburb of Chicago, IL - Deublin spans the world with wholly owned subsidiaries in Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. In the rest of the world, Deublin products and services are available through Authorized Distributors.
Deublin achieved ISO 9001 certification. For a copy of the certificate
Deublin achieved Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification. For a copy of the certificate,
Deublin Company was founded in 1945 by Luke Deubler and Dick Linn. The name of the company is a combination of their two last names.
Deublin's entree into the Rotating Union market was its unique design that incorporated balanced mechanical seals.
During this time, the most popular type of sealing mechanism found in the industry was pressure type seals, which relied on the system pressure keeping wearing surfaces mated.
Increased speeds of various equipment, and specifically printing presses, resulted in rapid wear of pressure type seals.
Luke designed a mechanical seal into a rotating union. This design was immediately accepted by the industry and so began the growth of Deublin Company.
Early industries for which Luke designed unions, in addition to printing, were:
- Air Clutches
- Gear Boxes
- Machine Tool Spindles
- Textile Equipment
- Rubber Manufacturing Machinery
- Continuous Casting Machines and
- Paper Machine Calenders
Product category :
- Rotating Union Selection
- Rotating Union
- Steam Joints
- Turbulence Bars
Steam Joint - Deltasint Stationary Siphons
Deltasint Stationary Siphons with FSU Series Steam Joint for any speed.
Deublin is the world’s largest manufacturer of Rotating Unions. These precision engineered products are used in an almost endless variety of applications.
In 1985 Deublin introduced a new technology for condensate removal from paper machine dryers. For the first time, a Stationary Siphon System had been designed and successfully applied to high-speed paper making.
Deublin has pioneered the application of Stationary Siphons on high-speed machines. Today, there are over 15,000 successful installations and Deublin has become the system of choice with many of world’s most productive and efficient papermakers.
The Deublin FSU/Deltasint Stationary Siphon provides the following advantages:
- Reduction of differential pressure
- Reduction of blow through steam
- Elimination of dryer flooding
- No moving parts
- Rigid mechanical mounting
- Hydro-planing Siphon pick-up Shoe design

Rotating Swivels - Rotary Swivels - Rotary Couplings - Rotary Joints - Rotary Unions
Rotating Unions (also known as rotary swivels, rotary couplings, rotary joints) are precision mechanical devices used to transfer fluid from a stationary source, such as a supply pipe, into a rotating piece of machinery. A typical rotating union features:
- Ball bearings to support the rotating component (attached to the machinery) against the stationary component (attached to the stationary supply source)
- Mechanical seal to seal the media passing through the rotating union
Mechanical seal face materials and secondary seals will vary depending upon the fluid properties & operating conditions of the application. Likewise, bearing type, design, material & construction will also vary with application.
Rotating Unions are used in numerous manufacturing processes to cool, heat or transfer fluid (pneumatic or hydraulic) power.
Rotating Union applications include Air Clutches, Gear Boxes, Machine Tool Spindles, Textile Equipment, Rubber & Plastic Manufacturing Machinery, Steel Continuous Casting Machines, Paper Machine Calender stacks, Paper Machine Dryer Cans, etc.
Deublin Rotating Unions can be selected by the following categories:
- Air Unions
- Air-Hydraulic Unions
- Air-Hydraulic-Coolant Unions
- Brake Fluid Unions
- Coolant Unions
- Cutting Oil Unions
- General Purpose Unions
- Hot Oil Unions
- Hydraulic Oil Unions
- Steam Unions
- Vacuum Unions
- Water Unions
