SELET was born in 1973 in Turin, an industrial town in Piedmont region, the north/west side of the alps. The initial field application of SELET was the electrical and oil pressure ones. The experience obtained in these fields gave the needed support in developing in the electronic field; it was this the field where SELET oriented its own future. First products developed in this field were the INDUCTIVE AND CAPACITIVE PROXIMITY SWITCHES.

In 1981, the products range of sensors became greatest with the PHOTOELECTRIC SENSORS AND PROXIMITY SWITCHES.

In 1985 borns the automatic mounting department for SMD technology, that is going to become the point where the whole production turns on it.

In 1986 begun the production of incremental ENCODERS, some time later also the absolute ENCODERS completed this family and in these years other products were developed such as DIGITAL INSTRUMENTS (voltmeters, ammeters, counters, timers, revolution counters, temperature controllers). Passing the years, SELET increases its own know-how by approaching to new manufacturing technology.

In 1995 borns the

Measure Department of SELET

with the aim of supervision for the compliance of all products to the communitary directives concerning the electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage (EMC, LVD). A new mounting line for sensors was introduced in the production context, for saving the production time and for maintaining high quality standards.
